Marine Insurance

Marine Insurance and International Moves
Do you Need Marine Insurance?
International moves require a lot more planning and attention to detail than domestic moves.
Your household goods will be packed, loaded onto a truck, loaded into a shipping container, transported overseas via boat and cleared through customs before being delivered to your house.
IntlMOVE pays special attention to packing household goods with care to help ensure their safety while being shipped overseas.
However, occasional accidents do happen.
While in transit, your personal belongings will be subject to turbulence fueled by weather, boat movement and other unforeseen circumstances.
Due to the nature of an overseas move, international shipments are also handled by outside parties, including overseas customs officers

Purchasing Marine Insurance can help give you peace of mind when shipping your household goods overseas.
Marine Insurance will cover your household goods and personal effects while they are in transit to ensure your items are covered in case of an accident.

You can choose a Marine Insurance broker or use any insurance company of your choice.
IntlMOVE does want to help its customers every step during their international move, so ask your move consultant for recommendations.

Marine Insurance types and Requirements
There are two types of Marine Insurance – Limited Cover and All Risk Cover.
You will want to gain a clear understanding of what each insurance type entails from your insurance provider.
If any part of your shipment is packed by you, insurance companies will only issue a Limited Cover policy.

Limited Cover insurance, which is also referred to as Total Loss, covers the total loss of your household goods that are unsalvageable.
All Risk Cover may insure loss, theft, damage, breakage and it also insures everything that Limited Cover insurance covers.
Exact coverage details can be obtained by your insurance provider.
