I personally have a “soft spot” for Panama as this beautiful country is one of IntlMOVE’s favorite shipping destinations.
One of my sons lived in Bocas del Toro for three years so I had an opportunity to visit and see Panama’s beauty first hand.
If you are going to visit Bocas del Toro, allow a full day to travel to this picturesque island.
You will arrive at the international airport in Panama City; and then you need to take a taxi to the domestic airport, about a thirty minute ride.
At the domestic airport you will board a small plane to fly to Bocas del Toro.
The island has a small airport, one runway, and you must arrive before nightfall.
If you are more adventurous and have the time, or you just want to see the country side, take a bus from Panama City and use the ferry to get to the island.
The island is beautiful, peaceful and well worth the trip.
Bocas del Toro is a popular destination for scuba divers, surfers, deep sea fishing enthusiasts and people who want to relax and unwind.
The Panamanian people are warm, inviting and friendly.
Panama is such a beautiful country and offers something for everyone, from the dramatic Pacific coast line to the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean beachfront to the hustle and bustle of the Capital and largest city, Panama City.
No trip to Panama would be complete without a visit to the Panama Canal.
There is a huge expansion project for the Panama Canal expected to be completed sometime between 2015 and 2025.
